When to go to L&D if having a csection

So I know the rules of contractions if you are having a vaginal delivery but what is the rule if you are having a csection? I had a csection with my first and my csection date with this one is set for August 8th.

Do you go in when you start having timeable contractions?

I have been having lots of pressure below my belly and just have been extremely uncomforable. I am not sure what contractions feel like. I didn't experience contractions at all with my first.

  • If you are having timeable contractions, I think the first step would be to call your doctor and you can decide together if it's time to go in. I'm a FTM so I don't have experience with this, but I think you'll know when they are real contractions vs just being uncomfortable or BHs.

  • I would definitely call if you start having timeable contractions.  If nothing else, they can at least give you an NST.  If they decide you're in labor, they will most likely do the section right then (at least this is what they would do at my hospital).

  • I've been having pressure under my belly too but my rcs isn't until 8/31. I wonder if it has something to do with our scar?

  • My dr said to follow the usual rules. 5-1-1 contractions or water breaking warrants a call.

  • I have a scheduled c-sec for August 6 and have been having contractions as well. My OB told me to go to L&D if they are five minutes apart, my water breaks, or I experience bleeding. HTH

  • Preasure is normal- especially as a STM.  You wont not know what contractions feel like.  I think the rule would be like anything else..

If your water breaks, if you are contracting or in labour...

  • I did not have contractions with my first either. But I did end up feeling something was different this time around.Since the Dr.confirmed I was having contractions but not too may and they did not hurt. They said that if it got worse I should call them.Which is what ended up happening.

If you feel like something is off, I say call the DR. it is better to do so, since they do not like you going into full blown labor if you have  are having a RCS.

    Good luck
