Ive read putting baby in a nightly bath routine would get them to sleep through the night. DD is 8 weeks and just started sleeping 4-5hrs at night about 5 nights ago. My question is though how can I put her on a bath routine if im not supposed to bathe her everyday?
Anyone have a nighttime bath routine and how old was LO when you started?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated ![]()
TIA!!
Re: night time bath routine anyone?
You can bathe her every night, just don't use soap every time. We started a bath-bottle-bed routine a week or so ago and, so far, so good. LO was about 6 weeks when we started it. We use soap every 2-3 days and lotion afterwards each time.
ETA: I should add that LO is sleeping 7-9 hours at night now. He's always been a good sleeper (he gave us 5 hour stretches right from the get-go) but this routine is making it even better.
I started doing a nightly bath routine around 8-9 weeks, but this week he has been a bit too fussy some evenings to do it.
He has cradle cap so I was trying to wash his scalp every night.
Also I massage him with almond oil before the bath. He seems to like that.
This is what I started too. When LO's cord fell off we started.
My DS is 9 wks, and I started a bed time routine about 2 weeks ago.
He gets a bath by 8 pm, with soap every other night. Lotion and pjs after bath. Then, it just depends on what he feels like doing -- play mat, swing, being held. He now consistently nurses between 9 and 10, and is consistently asleep between 10 and 11.
Slowly but surely his longest sleep stretch is getting longer. We've had two nights where he slept more than 7 hours in the past week. There are still nights where his longest stretch is still only 4 hours, but they are becoming less usual.
