For some reason I am thinking bagels might be a no-no...a choking hazard maybe? Or are they okay at this age? If they are okay, how have you prepared them for your LO? (toasted vs untoasted, small pieces vs whole slice...) TIA!
Max has been eating the mini bagels since about 6 months. Sometimes we toast them (let them cool - the outside gets hot) and sometimes now. Scooping out some of the middle helps fillings (guacamole, hummus, etc) stay in/on the bagel. The chewiness of it seems to be wonderful when he is teething.
DD gets a mini bagel every Saturday and Sunday to eat with her daddy. We usually give her the whole thing but then sometimes give her little pieces instead.

DS has been eating bagels since about 6 months, he loves any kind of bread! He's had them toasted, not toasted, cut up, and been given bigger chunks that he has to take bites from.

C's had bagels for months. Always toasted, sometimes small pieces, sometimes chunks. Usually with peanut butter or cream cheese, sometimes plain. C loves his carbs.
Yay! I'm glad to hear bagels are ok. I'm going to add mini-bagels to my shopping list, I'm sure Clara will be thrilled to try them since she is such a little carb addict. Thanks for all the preparation ideas!

I have never specifically given her bagels, but this just gave me a great idea to buy mini bagels now.
This...and it kept him busy for like 2 hours on our car trip. DS is a NJ boy so giving him good quality bagels is part of the culture around here. Lol
