Treatments for yeast infections in diaper area?

DD has a yeast infection in her diaper area.  It looks pretty painful.  I have some nystatin left over from when we had thrush, so I've been putting it on there, but I'm not sure how much good it's doing.

Any other remedies you can think of that might help?

TIA!

Re: Treatments for yeast infections in diaper area?

  • DS got a yeast infection, and I had to take him to the Pedi to get Rx cream. It cleared it up in a few days.

My pedi told me to mix equal parts desitin, lotrimin, and hydrocortisone. LO cleared up quickly.

  • Straight lotirimin twice a day is fine to use.  Worked well.  No reason to mix it with other stuff unless the rash is really painful/weepy.

  • We did lotrimin and then aquaphor on top, worked after 2 days.

Thanks a bunch!  I picked up some lotrimin today at the grocery store!  Hopefully it'll do the trick!
