Calling all stylists: Help me find a homecoming dress!

So DH gets home in a few weeks and I'm in desperate need of a new dress to welcome him home in but I'm no good at really styling myself. I would like something sexy that shows all that he's been missing for the past 7 months, but also something that is pretty comfortable in case they are running late. We are in southern California so the weather is pretty mild but can get chilly if we run into the evening hours, so if I can pair a sweater with it, that would be great. I dont really have a preference in color. I usually wear more form fitting dresses; empire waist dresses look like giant triangles on me now because my hips are a little bigger after childbirth.

 

Any help would be great! I know we have quite a few fashionistas on this board. I want him to see me and say, "wow," so help me become a wow! Thank you!

    Nothing fancy. Casual but nice. I guess like something you would wear to a daytime wedding? Does that help?

    I vote this.  Guys are really into sundresses IME.  And I think the color would look really good with your dark hair.

    What is your best asset?  Is there a color he loves to see you in?  

    For example, I always try to wear something pink when DH gets back from a deployment b/c for some reason, that's his favorite color to see me wear (and one that I rarely wear).  And I always make sure it shows plenty of cleavage.

    I'm no help on dresses but I wanted to say congratulations on YH coming home!!! If you can't find a dress, I recently wore for our homecoming a high waisted skirt with a nice shirt and wedges, casual but cute!! When DH saw me his first words were "wow you look hot!" I originally wanted a dress too but like you I need something more form fitting and of course I could not for the life of me find one I liked but the skirt was just as comfortable so it worked out well. GL!

    Sorry, i didnt mean to go totally MIA. Thanks for all the reponses! I love the color of the yellow dress and the cut of the blue one.

    There is no one particular color i can think of that he prefers on me. As for my assets, I would say its my figure...I have kind of an hour glass figure with a smaller waist and curvy (aka bigger) hips. My boobs are a little bigger than they used to be but they stil aren't huge. I would like to show the little cleavage I have but it's not my best asset. I've worked hard on my legs since hes been gone too so something shorter would be nice.

    The dress blu suggested is really cute!! I agree that guys like sun dresses. I think that one is sexy and sweet at the same time and the back is an extra little sexy surprise. I'm trying to think of something that I could wear that dress to because now I want it.

    I'm useless when it comes to shopping, but wanted to add in a congrats on him coming home soon - that's so exciting!  And also, I think the yellow dress is super cute.  But no matter what you're wearing, I'm sure he's gonna say "wow" and be very excited to see you.
