So I've always liked the idea of giving a little girl the middle name "Love". It probably seems kind of weird but there is Courtney Love, right? (not exactly the same but you get it.)
Almost more secretly I've thougth it be cute to have three girls and give them the middle names Faith, Hope, and Love.
Am I crazy? It's just a guilty pleasure.
Another guilty pleasure is Hallie (but I already have a niece Haley.)
ETA (forgot this last part): What are your guilty pleasures?
Re: Guilty Pleasures
Hey you! Nice to see you around here
My guilty pleasures:
Sage
Rowan (for a girl
)
Millicent
Fallon
Willow
Winter
Sloane
BFP #2 - 3/2/13 * DS1 - BORN ON EDD - 11/13/13
BFP #3 - 11/7/14 * DS2 - BORN ON EDD - 07/21/15
I also adore Scarlett, it was a contender for DD.
Others:
Clementine
Georgia
Athena
Daphne
Calista
Courtney Love is probably the reason I would give for NOT naming my child either of those names. She grates my nerves...and that's rare.
My GP names for a girl are Indigo, Sage (a little too earthy), and Irene (still too old fashioned for my taste but I like it).
For boys: Tucker and Tadhg. Tucker, I'm not sure ages well and Tadhg has an unfortunate deragatory association.
I love Willow, but it is the name of my cousin's still-born daughter, & I could never do that to her. :-(
My friend's friend has girl triplets whose middle names are Faith, Hope, and Love. I think it's cute.
For me, it's anything from Harry Potter: Nymphadora, Tonks, Hermione, Ginny.
DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012
TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
I swear I didn't read this before I posted. hahaha
Girl: Harper
Boy: Sawyer, Milo
love sloane!
Atticus
August
Gatsby
This! DH doesn't even like barely gender neutral names, so full on boy names for girls is a no go.
My guilty pleasure names for girls are Scarlett, Piper, Daphne and Isla (my niece is named Shyla so it's too close for me to use).
Boys are Rhett (too close to DS' name), August and Kellan.
I like the virtue type names for middle names. It is a middle name after all so you have a bit more freedom.
I really love old classic names. Elenore and Matilda but DH HATES them. Thankfully we are having a boy so that made it easier.
I also really love Russian sounding names. Nikoli, Nikova, Svetlana. DH says they are out because it really clashes with his very Spanish last name.
Haha! You too!
and I used to love Rowan for a girl! I only ever knew a girl Rowan so I had no idea it was a boy name until I came on here.
I'm not really sure I actually have any, since I think of GP names as being those I like but couldn't bring myself to use.
Names I like (but DH won't agree to, and so they're *sigh* off the table):
Xanthe
Temperance (though he's warming up....maybe if we ever have a third girl)
Marlo
Briar
Prudence
I'd also admit to this haha!
Love is alright, it's not my favorite virtue MN. I really liked the post about the woman who dreamt of the MN Dove today - I think that's an adorable MN.
Abram & August are GP names for me that DH doesn't like.
Both of the MNs we've picked for this LO are GP names. The boy MN will likely be Ambrose and the girl will be Eloise Clementine, clearly I'm all about using GP MNs!
I named my car Persephone.
Kelle Hampton of Enjoying the Small Things named her oldest daughter Lainey Love.
My guilty pleasure names for boys are Mackenzie and Ender.
My guilty pleasure names for girls are Hermione, Dagny, Elspeth, Hollis, Fable, Poet, Sonnet, Galilea, Guinevere, Juniper, Persephone, and Primrose.
I left a lot of unusual names off my girl's list, because I'd totally use them. In fact, a few of my guilty pleasure girl names I'd use (at least as middle names) if I could convince DH.
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
Girls: Nova, Genesis, Echo, Raina
Boys: Augustus, Titus, Cassius, Caius
Haha, I like -us names.
My guilty pleasure names for girls are Antoinette, Jane Eyre (I know, it's a last name), and Elliott.
I don't think I really have any for boys.
ETA: I forgot Hermione.
Juniper (for a girl).
DH hates it though and I don't know if I could ever be brave enough to use this name.
I have always loved Hope but it rhymes with our last name so it would just sound silly.
The Faith, Hope and Love thing is neat.....but I reminds me of the girls on Jon and Kate plus 8 (the three young girls have the middle names Hope, Faith and Joy)
I looove Lavender but we already have a Hazel so two plant names might be a bit much (though Annie's middle name is Olive so we could do a theme
). I also adore Valentine, and we might use it if we have a 4th girl if I'm brave enough. Some might call Luna a guilty pleasure name too, and it's what we're using if we have girl #3.
I'm sure I've quoted this before but I love Ender too! Maybe I could have a Valentine and an Ender...
That's my daughter's name! It's making deciding on #2 really difficult. For now we call her "juni" which I also love and has a lot of significance in my fam. But it was hard for me to announce because I knew my family would think it odd.
I LOVE the name Poppy for a girl. Not sure I could ever name a kid that, but i think it's adorable.
