We already have a video monitor for LO1, but want to keep using it with her until she gets a little older. We were kind of nervous about spending another 150-200 dollars on another video monitor that would fit the quality that we would like. However, my town is having a HUGE consignment sale right now with over 600 venders. My friend and I went today and I found a $100 Summer Infant Video Monitor with a large screen for only $30 dollars! YAY! We already tested it out and it's great!
Now I can watch both of my girls sleeping soundly. Piece of mind for Mama! ![]()

Depends upon who is setting it up, but basically people can sell their items on consignment (sometimes through shops, other times it's a weekend event). The shop/event keeps a certain amount or % of the proceeds, while the seller gets the rest. The seller can set a starting price and a minimum price with some of the places, so if it doesn't sell at the starting price after a specified amount of time, they can either get the item back, or the price can drop.
Some items are used, others are never been used... just depends.
This is an event in my area 2x's per year called Outrageous Outgrowns - pretty neat from what my friend who's participated in it says.
As PP said, some items are used, some are new. The one I went to today was hosted by a church. The had TONS of cribs, bedding, decorations, strollers, toys, clothing (newborn to teens), changing tables, bouncers, swings, outdoor slides, etc.
You should check your local papers and see if there are any sales at churches or parks near your town.
There are also consignment stores that are open year-round.
