Double stroller question for 2 or 3+ moms

2 or 3+ moms what are you doing for a double stroller?

My ds is going to be 2 and a half when #2 will be here. He loves to be in his stroller so I know I will need one.  I love running so I want a jogging stroller but the bob doesn't look like it has a lot of head room. (ds is really tall)

We have went and looked at the mountain buggy duet and  the bumbleride indie twin. Does anyone have either? What do you love or hate?

Where is the best place to buy one them? All the stores by me don't have them instock. Also where can I find out what car seats adapt with them?

Thanks lady's!!

  • We have the single BOB, DS is 31 months and fits just fine, plenty of room for growth. How tall is your son? The seat "sags" a bit so may the photos are misleading? I got mine through REI, when they have the 20% off coupons. I've aso had good luck with albeebaby.com

  • Thank you! I love the uppa baby ones too but yeah I want a jogging one. :)

  • We have the uppa with running board for around town.  We have the double bob for running.  My daughter is in the 100% for height at age 3 and she fits fine.  Strollers aren't really meant to accommodate 5+ so once yours kids get close to that age or height it does get a bit snug but so far so good for us on both strollers.

I don't know if you do a lot of biking or not, but we have the Burley Encore bike trailer that converts to a jogging stroller. I like it b/c we jog and bike relatively regularly, and I didn't have to spend money on both, or store two seperate things.

I use it for jogging with DD 3 or 4 times/wk and it works really nicely. It's pretty big, but I think most side-by-side double strollers are that way. It's a pretty smooth ride, and easy to switch back and forth between jogger and trailer.

I plan to use it when #2 gets here, as it has a "baby snuggler" (that is only for use as a stroller, since you shouldn't jog or bike with babies until they are older) as our double stroller. Hopefully it works as well as I imagine it will!

  • I do not run or jog, but I had an Indie Twin.  Since my reasons for getting it were not related to jogging or running, I can't comment on that.  I didn't really like it.  It pushed like a breeze, seriously amazing, but it was SO wide.  We had a hard time squeezing into doors (like at the mall, our dumb mall here doesn't have any automated doors, so I'd have to try and not kill my poor oldest kid while he held the door...it was just so frustrating!), and forget going through a store like JC Penneys.  If you need to take it into the racks, it's not going to fit.  It was nice and cush though, and my kids really liked it, but I didn't, so we sold it.
