We have the Fisher Price Rainforest bathtub, which is supposed to be great for babies from birth until they can go in the big tub... but it really does not work well for this stage. You're supposed to drop one end of the sling and use the other end to support/ cushion the baby's head, but it seems like my son is too big for this to work right. He doesn't sit up, so we can't put him in the big part of the tub, and if we put him in the smaller part without the sling thing or some sort of cushion, he gets a red bump on his back, slides all over the place, and it's really hard to wash him...
So... what are you all doing at bath time? Does anyone have a system that you really like and that works well??
Re: How are you doing bath time?
Our baby tub has a newborn insert with a cushion, and I hate it. The cushion only attaches on top, and the bottom slides around. I can't wait until she is big enough to just sit in the tub part. I do like that it sits up higher than a lot of baby tubs.
It's this one: https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3680336
DS LOVES bathtime! We are still using a little sponge with the cut out of the baby to support his head that goes on this https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11495800
but he is getting too big for the sponge so I think we are going to try and just have him sit on the bather without it. He will probably still be a little wobbly so DH might have to hold him......its kinda a pain to do bathtime by myself.
We have a cheap pink one from BRU. We haven't used the sling since her cord thing fell off. She sits in the tub part. DH and I do bath time together so he makes sure she stays sitting up while I wash her. She loves kicking and splashing!
I think we may have this same one. It's a Bright Starts, maybe First Years? We haven't used the sling since she was a few weeks old also. Ours has an "infant" side and a "toddler" side. We set her in the infant side, though I keep one hand under her bum so she doesn't slip off and go under. She loves it.
I'm wondering if you could use the bumbo in the regular tub (with supervision obviously). I'm sure it's not recommended though.

We seem to be the odd ones out here but we just use the regular tub with an inch or two of water. We lie him down and he absolutely loves it, splashes like crazy and soaks the room. We have been doing this since he was almost three months old.
He had a big growth spurt just before three months and he was just too long for his baby tub/sling. I had planned on buying him something bigger the next time I went shopping but he did so well in the big tub I figured why bother.
I just take DD into the shower with me. It is so much easier than trying to do a bath, and DD loves it.
(Most of the time my DS (3) also takes showers, but he takes them with Daddy now instead of me.)
