I have the option of not wearing the hospital gown while in labor which is very appealing to me. I feel like this is a stupid question but I am at a loss for what to wear! I know I will wear a sports bra but what on the bottom? My MW said I will obviously need to be OK with throwing it away so maybe just a cheap stretchy skirt? Or would it actually just be easier to wear the fugly gown?

Re: What to wear?
That makes great sense - thank you!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
I think I am going to stick with the gown while in labor but I might consider something like this for afterwards! I remember that I found the gown kind of annoying when it came time to nurse.
I posted this same question on my September Board a few days ago and here is a link to a skirt one of the ladies recommened. She used it for her first birth and planned to use it again and it sounds like it's a snap skirt - easy to remove and put back on and was not intrusive for the Drs/nurses.

BTW - I am new to this Board, just strated lurking on here today.
We're going to be at home, so hospital gown is not an option. I really like the look of this gown from Target. I am most comfortable in spaghetti straps and I like the loose flowiness of the bottom. And it's black. I can have a little modesty on top and access down below, which is what will most likely make me most comfortable, unless I just want to take it all off. It's also great for nursing.
Considering I did my last 2 cm and pushing naked last time, maybe this might be a good option to entice me to be a little more modest this time around.
