Okay so I just got my ergo in. I bought the newborn insert also, how many of you used it with your baby. My DD is almost 6 wks has good head control and weighs over 11lbs. She is very long too.

Im wondering if we can go without? The insert makes her so hot, she is literally sweating.  she's not big on swaddling either but loves to be held.

    I froggied DD's legs until she was maybe 4 1/2-5 months. We only stopped because she kept kicking me in the guts! But also at that time she was okay with having her legs out.

    I don't use the insert and our babies are similar in size. He is froggy style in there.

    My DD is smaller, maybe about 9 lbs but I actually like the insert.  Took a little getting used to (I got an Ergo when DS was older, so never needed an insert).  It's hot, but where I am she sweats even if I am just holding her.  She just nurses frequently to quench her thirst :)
    DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.

    The Moby is a must buy!!! I used it until DD was bigger, now I rock the Ergo.

    I didn't like my ergo insert - I actually liked using some rolled up pre-folds under DD's butt instead to prop her up.  At 6 wks I did prefer my moby to the ergo.  I really didn't start using the ergo until she was around 3-4 months old.

    Did you get the performance insert or the old style? The performance insert is less comforter-like than the old one. We started using ours with our bigger son at just a few days old (almost 7lb). My smaller baby rocks the Sleepy Wrap.
