1st Trimester

morning sickness...when?

when does "morning" sickness typically set in.  Just guessing based on LMP I should be 5wks 3 days not really feeling sick yet.  Do feel tired all the time and have some breast tenderness that fluctuates in intensity.

Re: morning sickness...when?

  • It just depends on the person. Some people won't have m/s at all. From what I've heard and seen, it usually sets in about 4-6 weeks and then curbs at the 2nd trimester, but you'll hear about women who had morning sickness from before they could even get a BFP to the very end. Again, it really just depends. Enjoy this time :)

  • First time around it was 6 weeks.  This time I have had waves of nausea shortly after my bfp (which I got at 9dpo).  I'm skurrrred for week 6!

  • Maybe you'll get lucky with none.... I didn't have any with DS and so far zero with this pregnancy.

  • Just lurking...It hit my like clock work at 6 wks. I only got "sick" 5 times but felt like crap all day everyday for 5 wks.! My MS was completely gone by 11 wks. Don't panic if you don't get it, some women don't!

  • Not everybody gets morning sickness. I didn't get it. Thank God :)
  • You can get it any time. I didn't have it until 16 weeks. Some women never had it & some get it 3rd tri. It's luck of the draw!

  • I felt a little queasy on and off but nothing bad at 5w.

  • My morning sickness started about 6 and a half weeks and lord was it nasty :( Couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't walk without agitating the nausea further. It was terrible. Now It's... livable. I'm on diclectin and it's allowed me to eat and sleep again, but I'm not feeling myself. I'm feeling better, but I don't feel good.

Trust me, be HAPPY that yours hasn't set in yet! You might be the lucky lady who DOESN'T get morning sickness!

  • I'm at 5 weeks too and all I have is breast tenderness, gas and tiredness. So far no morning sickness. It's different for everyone. As others have said on this post it could still be around the corner for us ladies. Let's hope it stays at bay! ha!
