Does anyone have a sound machine or similar that doesn't shut off automatically after a while? DD wakes up like clockwork when her sleep sheep stops making noise.
DS has a tiny set of ipod speakers and I have an ancient ipod nano in there that plays his nighttime music or stories on tape, but I don't want to spend a ton this time!
Re: Sound machine that doesn't shut off?
We had this problem when I was putting the sleep sheep on the "rain" sound. It abruptly shuts off, and it'd wake up Aria. When I started putting it on the "waves", it fixed out problem. I think it's because it shuts off "between waves", so it's as if the next wave noise just doesn't come. This might help for the interim?
We also have a stand fan in Aria's room, because it's always been the warmest room in the house. Now that it's in there, we don't even turn on "sleepy sheepy" anymore. She just likes having him hang there to play with when she wakes.

ditto the ones we use (use for my other kids too) were all from bed bath and beyond
That's the one we have too. $20 at Target in the baby section. It has a timer you can use or not. We love it.
THIS... I wouldn't survive without it. I leave it on all night and during all naps. I got it as a baby shower gift from a girlfriend who swore by it... It's sold at Target:

( i dont know if you have to copy and paste or what) its the homedics sounds pa lullaby relaxation machine. It has a projection as well. We use the ocean waves noises for it. You can opt to use a timer, but i never have.
We use this one! My only complaint is how ugly it is, but at least it's small.
We loved our cute giraffe, but why on earth would they make it so it goes off at 45 minutes - exactly when baby is in the middle of a sleep transition?
THIS! I LOVE mine. I use it everynight- so when LO slept in the same room with us for the first 4 months he "used" it also. Then he moved to his room, and he took it with him, and I use the fan. I'll be buying another one come a month or so when it's too cold to use the fan for ME.
