8 months son, 18weeks PG, feeling uncomfortable... CSec?

Hi all,

I'm having a surprise pregnancy. We found out 3-4 weeks ago and I'm already 18 weeks. With my son which is 8 months now I had a Csection. I've been feeling very uncomfortable lately and I feel like my belly is getting bigger everyday.

Any of you in my situation?? I asked the OB and she said is normal. Do you think I'm feeling this way because it is so recent after my Csection last November??  I'm as big as I was with my son at 7 months, my belly feels so heavy and sensitive.

I'm thinking about going to the store to get some support bands.

  • I got pregnant when DS was 8 months old (right after I weaned him) so I had a longer break than you, but it was still short. I can definitely say that my body didn't fully recover and that my second pregnancy was more uncomfortable than my first ... I'm pregnant w/#3 now and even more uncomfortable. I also got bigger a LOT sooner with each subsequent pregnancy. My doctor advised me that I didn't wait very long and that it would be harder for my body, I also found that I carried very differently and just experienced different challenges. Not to mention, you're caring for a baby and trekking him around while maintaining this pregnancy ... it's just a lot for your body to manage.

I wear a maternity support belt sometimes (other times it just makes things worse) and I have found that warm baths with epsom salt REALLY hard the general aches/pains in my legs, hips, back, etc. More than anything, I would just say that I've been surprised about the new/different pains and issues that have come up with each pregnancy - they have all been pretty different.

Short story - you're not alone; I think each pregnancy is just harder (and different) no matter what but especially when you have them close together. Good luck!!

  • My pregnancies were not quite as close together. I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was 7 months and got pregnant with #3 when #2 was 11 months old. I've had/will deliver all via c-section.

I felt uncomfortable earlier on and my belly grew faster with each pregnancy. My doctor does recommend a repeat c/s at 38 weeks for deliveries that are less than 18 months apart. There were no other major things from having multiple c/s in a short amount of time.
