AW- I just had a stupid meltdown.

in December 2012 Moms

My roller derby league just threw out the fact that we are having league pictures and profile shots taken in two weeks. I'm not "allowed" on the rink in my gear because of liability if I get hurt so I can't really be in the group photo and I'm going to be forever pregnant on our website pictures.

So I just put my skates on and started cleaning my apartment and pathetically moping.

    That stinks! Is there any way your team might be able to take the group photo somewhere else so that you can be included? Perhaps they will let you include a new photo once you deliver? I hope it all works out!

    Could they maybe put you in the back of the group pic?  You wouldn't have to be on skates necessarily and it might hide enough of your bump.... I'd be kind of bummed for that too. :(

    Thanks ladies. I know in the grand scheme of things, this isn't the most important thing ever. I'm just grumpy about being six months pregnant forever in these pictures.

    I'll see if they'll let me sneak in the back skateless so maybe I can still be in the shot :)

    Have your girls be a little different and get out of the ring... besides aren't you on a flat track? Several of the teams here do photos hoots all over (I know banked track girls do them in and out of the ring), so you flat track girls are gonna need some variety too!

    And your profile shot should be able to be shot with out showing the belly.

    Or buy the baby skates I showed you and put them on the belly...lol! Get you some maternity picts out of the deal... a 2 for 1 special.

    Cheer up, your team mates are sure to help find a solution!

    I never said that... you are justified in being upset (even if it is mostly hormones) this is a big part of your life, and you are already sitting out almost all of it. Sitting this out too would be hard.

    I just try to find an upside, and I do think you can participate... you may just have to get creative.

    Aw, cheer up, LB!! 

    I'd say more, but mlangs basically said everything I would've said, and more, and just rocked it better. SO. yeah. Don't be discouraged, hot stuff. :)
