Hello ladies! I have posted a few times when we first were looking at our options and now it's looking like we maybe able to move forward with our DE cycle sooner rather than later, which makes me super happy Nothing set in stone yet but getting the ball rolling!
So I will look at the DE check in also...BUT....Those of you who are using DE, any thoughts on fresh vs. frozen cycles? I am really thinking frozen since it give a better price range to work with since we are OOP, insurance won't cover this...
TIA!

Hi there! I did a fresh cycle DE, which resulted in my DS. Frozen DE wasn't an option with our clinic and DE agency. Otherwise, we probably would have considered it, since we were 100% OOP as well. I would look into your clinic's freezing criteria for their embryos.
Also, is a shared risk fresh DE cycle an option for you? We did a shared risk program for our DE cycle. It was expensive upfront but we felt more comfortable knowing that we'd get our money refunded if it wasn't successful. And that way, we could put the refunded money towards adoption costs.
Good luck to you!!
Nay!! I feel like a creepy lurker but I am so glad to "see" ya! and your DS is such a cutie! I stoped posting but still lurked and was very happy for you when you got your BFP
Imanurse...thanks for your opinion! and Also what a cutie in your sig!
I am actually looking at a clinic in NY that I know of someone who did the fresh cylce and was very happy, so it still maybe an option. I am only leaning towards frozen becuase of the convience of not having to sync with the donor, which if I chose this clinic in NY would be hard to do in CA...

Aww thank you!! Good to "see" you too. I know Reb259 on the Infertility Veterans board has done 2 frozen donor cycles in Houston. You may want to page her and ask her about her cycles.
I'm totally rooting for you!!

Was just lurking on this board, but had to post. I used frozen donor eggs with RBA. I am a first-time success story, so maybe I'm the perfect ideal, but I don't think I'm all that unique. They have a 60% success rate with frozen eggs and eSET; 70% with 2 transferred. We also have 2 high-quality embryos frozen after that one cycle (and we started out with 5 eggs).
RBA also has a guarantee; if you don't get two excellent quality embryos out of a single frozen cycle with them, you get another cycle for free. They definitely do honor that guarantee; one of the ladies on the FB DE group had two middling eggs to transfer for them, and the docs immediately went to discussing the next (free) cycle, no questions asked.

I second the recommendation for RBA's frozen egg bank. We are local for them but they really work to make it easy for people who travel in. I don't think you can beat the price or the guarantee.
Good luck in your decision.
