Cyst on Ovary

Hi everyone!

This is my 2nd pregnancy, and yesterday I went for an ultrasound because I have been spotting, and have had a MC before my son.  Good news is there is a heartbeat and everything with the baby looks good!  They did, however, find a 6cm cyst on my right ovary.  My doc said they normally resolve themselves when the placenta develops completely and takes over responsibility for providing hormones to the pregnancy.

He did tell me not to do my usual workouts because the cyst is heavy and can flip over and twist the blood vessels and what not and then cause a need for surgery.

Anyone had one of these before?

Oh and to end my appt, I had my blood work done and passed out.  I have small veins that roll, and hadn't had breakfast (didn't know I was having my blood work that day).  Good times!

Re: Cyst on Ovary

  • I had one on my right ovary that they saw at my u/s when I was right around 8-9 weeks, and I too was spotting (sensitive cervix). They didn't even say anything to me about the cyst until I went to my regular doctor appt after an episode of bright red bleeding that I went to ER for and that u/s (11 weeks) noted that the cyst that was previously noted was gone and my Dr. told me all of this at my 12 week appt. I wouldn't worry about it too much ,some Dr.s just take a lot of precautions so I'm sure that's all it is and they're very normal in early pregnancy, at least you know that you have a cautious Doc, nothing wrong with that! :)
