So my mom is my host over my baby shower. She is also my best friend so I want to give her a nice thank you gift, but she hates gifts. She much rather me help her with something or do something for her. Any ideas on how to tell her how much this means to me and that I am extremly thankful for all she has done? I love creative ideas so please load me down in ideas.
Re: A gift that will mean a lot
My mom always tells me that I shouldn't have spent my money on her! However, for my hostess gift for her, I gave her a pretty picture frame with a u/s pic of DS in it. Her title is Nana, which is what I called her mom, and we could never find personalized stuff that said Nana on it. When I saw the frame, I knew it was the perfect gift and although she gave me The LOOK when I handed her the gift bag, she loved it!
What about treating her to a special lunch and then a mani-pedi? That way she gets special time with you but you also get her a special gift...
My mom is hosting my shower! My LO is her first grandchild, so I'm thinking of doing something special for her the day of in addition to a hostess gift.
What I was planning for her and my MIL was to buy them grandma corsages to wear that day.
Something like this (not sure if the pic will load so I posted a link):

I put a picture of the baby's ultrasound in a 'NANA' frame and gave her a card and my mom cried. Something like that is heartfelt and nice.
