I never was very enticed by the concept of Elimination Communication when I heard about it from my other natural/gentle/AP leaning friends. But my husband & ILs are from India, where the norm is to start putting a baby on a mini-toilet for a few minutes a day starting anytime between 4-6 months. They were and are shocked to hear that in the US, kids are in diapers til age 3.
It's starting to sound more appealing to us now that I heard my aunt-IL describe how she did it with her children. So we got a little mini-seat and I have a sense of how we'll go about it, but still not sure on the timing. Our daughter is 7 months - have any of you started this early? We were thinking of starting around 9 months, but perhaps we can start now. Any experienced thoughts? Thanks!
Re: When did you start EC?
We started somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks.
Check out the book Diaper Free Baby for helpful info on things to consider when starting at different ages. It is a great book!
