Just a general ball of nerves! i am 22, and this is my first! i am absolutely clueless and feeling cautious i suppose. someone advise me please :)

Re: No appetite!

  • Don't worry!  Take your prenatals, that's what they're for.  You don't have to be hardcore healthy about it, just make sure they're healthier choices if possible.  I wasn't hungry for about 3 weeks, and then even when I was hungry I stayed full for 8 hours afterward.  Relax!

  • I find that eating small snacks every 2 hours is helpful. If I wait too long to eat I get nauseous.

Of course you want to be healthy but don't deny yourself anything either. Just try to balance the best you can.

You can google what not to eat when pg.

    Good luck!

  • I'm sort of experiencing this too - I feel like my lack of appetite and being ravenous comes in waves. One minute I'm craving everything and the next, food is the last thing on my mind. I seem to always be thirsty though and can't get enough water. Like PP said, try to eat healthy snacks every couple of hours, stay hydrated and take those prenatal vitamins and you should be fine.

  • I am almost 6 weeks, and for the past week havent had much of an appetite until late afternoon...But I am also in the process of moving/packing, so I think I am keeping myself super busy and "forget". So far I havent had any nausea or anything, so counting my blessings there, but if you're not hungry, you're not hungry. Take your pren. vitas. and eat when you get hungry :-)

  • I have no appetite either, plus food makes me nauseous.  I have been very diligent with taking my vitamins this time around.  Guess this is why I have lost weight!!

This. and try bland foods or fruits/veggies... small nacks work best.

  • I'm the same also, I'm usually the type of person that will eat everything in sight! Now almost everything makes me sick. I do agree that eating almost every 2-3 hours (even just nibbling on something) will help. I kept wondering why I was so sick and as soon as I ate something instantly felt better. Something I never knew would help: Del Monte fruit cups! My doctor said that the sweet syrup helps with nausea!
