Did I set myself up for failure?

I know we all try our best to do everything "right" for the best possible outcome during the 2ww.  But this time around, I feel like I am doing everything wrong.

With previous cycles, I've been able to have 2 full days of bed rest or more and then I would take it easy until beta (aka go to work & be lazy at home).  This time around, I had 1 full day and then I had to jump right back into parenting.

I pick up M multiple times a day, take care of her (ready in the a.m., take to daycare, pick her up, play with her, change her, feed her, bath her, put her to bed - DH helps but I do the majority) with the good and the not so good, my patience is short these days (due to extra hormones) and that doesn't help my stress level, I'm emotional and to top it off my co-worker who is the same age as myself is KU on the first try, told us to our face before the HPT was dry, with her BF of 3 months (who is 10 yrs younger).  OH and she just left her DH 3 months ago and is not divorced yet and talks about her pg ALL DAY LONG.

I just feel like I have set myself up for failure this time around.

Thanks for letting me get those whines off my chest. I'm just probably a little BSC right now and just need to wait it out with the little patience that I have.

I'm so sorry you have to worry!  I do not think you need to worry abt picking up M. or not being a couch potato. There are many women who pick up there children early in pregnancy, who get and stay pregnant, including those of us who require assisted reproduction.

I'm sorry you are dealing with an annoying co-worker.

  • ((Hugs))  I know what you mean... I worry that I did too much leading up to this cycle and was a budle of nerves and stress from work and from IF.  Your co-worker sucks!  Hang in there lady... if picking up a kid ruined things, moms would never be able to have a second or third kid!

  • Oh hun, I have everything crossed for you that this works. I am sure that taking care of M didn't do anything negative. There are tons of 2nd time mom's that go through IVF and it turns out fine.

For my FET I had no hope it would work. Everything was so perfect for my IVF that didn't work that I never thought a FET would work. So, I did nothing that I did for my IVF. I am a huge wine drinker, gave it up when I started stims for IVF. For FET I was drinking (and a few times got tipsy even) right up till my transfer (which at that time I stopped). For IVF I had taken a whole week off of work between my ER to 2 days post transfer. I also remained strictly on bed rest those two days too. I wasn't able to take time off around my FET and just took the day of my transfer off. I did not bother doing bed rest (since my RE told me I didn't have to) and just took it easy. The next day I was back to work. Then we moved the following weekend and without thinking I lifted a few semi-heavy things.

I know why we are told to go on bed rest and eat/drink healthy when we are on a medicated cycle, but honestly people have been making babies for a long time and not even knowing when they are KU. I am sure it does make somewhat of a difference, but not too much. Overall, I wouldn't worry. I am praying this is it for you but for some reason if it doesn't work, I am certain it wasn't because of anything you did. GL and hugs!

  • I truly believe you are fine....I say this becasue I went into parenting that night -- DH was working and wasnt home much the days following. I went on as usual. I picked DD up who is more than likely three times as heavy as M.
