my OB went on maternity leave early :(

Like, 6 weeks early.  I hope she's okay, and that it's just bed rest, not an early delivery.

But oh am I sad.  She's my favorite in the practice!  :(

I came home tonight to a message on our home answering machine, telling me I need to reschedule my appointment for next week.  Now I'm worried that anyone who got their call to reschedule on their cell, has taken up all of the other doctor's remaining spots next week.

I really hope they can fit me in for my first appointment next week as planned.  I was down for late next week, which would have me approaching 8 weeks, and they like to get patients in between weeks 6-8.

Sad, party of one :(

What's the latest someone has had their first appointment?  I was even told when I called today to ask about ultrasounds, that they would give me a paper with my US order the day of my first appointment.

    My OB wants to see me between 8-10 weeks. I don't go in for 2 weeks (and I am very ready to have my first appt).

     My old dr saw patients around 10w, but I knew I o'd 10 days late so I got to see the bean a little bit early.   :)  I was actually glad they went by LMP instead of O!

    As a preemie mama, I hope your ob is okay and didn't have an early delivery!  And I hope you can get an appt asap.

    My OB does between 8-10 weeks usually.  I didn't have an accurate LMP so I was in there 2 weeks sooner than usual. 

    I'm sure everything is okay.  One of my good friends is an OBGYN and went on her maternity leave at 32 weeks.  Between office hours, on call hours, and hospital rounds it was too difficult for her to be on her feet.  At least she is taking leave at the beginning of your pregnancy and not the end- could you imagine if you were due next week and hoping she would be delivering you only to find out that she took leave early?

    I've said this like 10 times on various posts, but my first appointment isn't until 11.5 weeks! ( I don't want to sound like I'm complaining all the time haha). Also, I had the favorite OB on maternity leave happen to me too :-(

    My first appt with my OB was at 21 weeks with dd. (stupid insurance complications) I did see a pregnancy center at 11 and 15 weeks on my own, though. I'm sure you'll be fine if you don't get in until 9 or 10 weeks.

    My first appt won't be until 9 weeks.

    I really like my CNM, though, I would be bummed if she were out now that I'm PG. Hope you get another doctor you like just as much.

    I just called to reschedule, and was able to get in for Tuesday, which is a couple days earlier.  Yay!  Our local hospital does ultrasounds on weekends, so I think that's when I will schedule mine for.  I'm so happy.  They give you an order for a dating ultrasound at the first visit.
