That people are saying Willow Smith is too young to know she is bisexual. I knew when I was about 9. People can be so ignorant sometimes. Im so glad that she has supportive parents.
I've known for as long as I can remember that I found all kinds of people attractive whether it was male, female, or I couldn't tell. My mom was the best and would indulge me whenever I'd see a "pretty lady" and ask if I could marry her someday. The response was always "I don't know, maybe!" I had so many crushes on TV stars. Alanis Morissette was the best thing to happen to me when I was 5 or so and saw her on You Can't Say That on Television. Man, I loved that show.
My childhood crushes were women, I have definitely liked some men, and my spouse is a pre-everything transwoman... I think it's safe to say that I was also aware at a pretty early age!
I can't give a time I "knew" I was bisexual. I always kind of knew but I never really had a word for it. I just always kind of clicked with me that I liked boys and I liked girls and I liked them in the same way. I think I was maybe 11 or 12 when I discovered the word bisexual and I thought 'So that's what that is.'
I think the Smiths, as far as we can tell from our limited information on them, are very supportive of their children. I think some people give them flack for doing things like letting her shave her head because it's something they wouldn't do as a parent, and rather than rethink how much they're letting their child grow up into their own person, they cast judgment instead because it's easier.
