My little guy is 10 months old
1st question...tips on weaning from nursing!
2nd question...is there anything I can do about him hitting? He is hitting LOTS! I am a SAHM so he's not hitting other kids or anything but I am worried that it might just continue. Do I see if he grows out of it or do I act now?! TIA!
Re: (2) Nursing and hitting
1 - What exactly is your question? If you are looking to fully wean, aim to eliminate one feeding a week.
2 - Don't let him hit you, say No and redirect him.
My DD likes to slap my chest, right on the breastbone, sometimes while nursing. She's not doing it with bad intentions. I usually grab her hand and hold it for a minute. When I let go she usually stops. I also feel like she does this when she not very hungry and not so interested in eating.
I can't help you with the weaning. I'm not there yet.
This. My daughter knows what no means. When I tell her no she will look at me and shake her head no. I may have to tell her more than once but she knows. Just be consistent and don't let him do it.
She is also about 10 months and I would like to be done nursing at a year. I have started offering whole milk to her with meals in a straw cup. No more than 2ounces a day, at first, she's at about 3ounces now. She eats 3meals and has at least 2snacks. I am still nursing her about 4 sometimes 5 times per 24hours. As she gets older I will nurse less and give more whole milk. I am doing it very slowly so it isn't a super shock for her.
