Which girl name do you prefer?

Looking for some suggestions on two names that are on our short list right now. Dh is really stuck on Piper and I am so, so, on it. I like it but don't looooove it.

Things to consider is DD's name is Ivy. Middle name Mae. Last name starts with an L and is longer.

Full names that we are considering. Piper Elizabeth and Ada Grace. Suggestions of other MN's are welcome too!

In general, I like Piper better. But I think Ada Grace goes better with Ivy Mae.

Piper only because I'm not certain on how to pronounce Ada in terms of the vowels .. (thinking Ahh-da) & as a teacher I'd be worried about mispronouncing it from time to time. But Ada meets my love of short first names (it's sooo much faster when putting a heading on the paper - yes, the silly things you notice as a kid with a short name while waiting EVERYONE else to finish writing their much longer names)

I totally agree - Ada Grace sounds absolutely lovely with Ida Mae.

Think Ava but with an D instead. So pronounced A - da.

I voted Ada Grace because I think it goes great with Ivy Mae, I'm not a huge fan of Piper, and I'm partial to Ada since if ours is a girl the name will be Adah

I actually like them both, but like the combo of Piper and Ivy better. Btw, your pictures of Ivy are adorable.

Dh didn't like the Adah spelling, which I was bummed about. I like Adah so much more. What are you thinking for middle names? And I pinky swear that we won't steal it if we go with Ada!

I feel that Ivy and Ada make a better sibset than Iva and Piper...I'm also not a huge fan of Piper. My sister just got a kitten and named it Piper, so it could be because I associate it with her now, haha

I do like Pippa though!

Tough choices.. I really like both names!

I vote for Piper - but mostly because I prefer the spelling "Ayda" better.

Awww, I'm partial to Ada because I have an Adah! People always mispronounce it though. They are forever saying it like Uh-dah. Her middle name is Irene, after my great grandma.

I just don't like Piper at all.

Ada Grace is adorable and a lovely sister for big sis Ivy!

I like Piper, but voted for Ada b/c I think it matches with Ivy better. Both are great names, though! I get more a spunky feel from Piper, and more of a timeless elegance with Ada, which I think has the same vibe as Ivy. Both older and classic, while Piper seems more modern. GL!

Adah is the Biblical spelling, and since we're doing Bible names, there was no argument. I liked Adah and he liked Ada, but Bible says Adah so I won . Full name would be Adah Faith Mae. You can steal away, but I'm guessing you wouldn't reuse Mae! I love Ivy Mae, btw.
