Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th

We met with our RE yesterday to get the genetics results on our embies and to schedule our FET. The results were very interesting. Of the 3 that were abnormal, 2 of them were the best quality of the bunch. They were the highest grade possible, grew at the perfect rate, and overall looked "perfect". They were absolutely the 2 that we would have transfered if we had done a fresh transfer without the genetic testing!!
one of them had 3 extra chromosomes, and the other had 1 missing chromosome. The third that was abnormal had a mutation on the long arm of chromosome 7 (whatever the heck that means).
I feel like we just dodged a bullet. Just goes to show that the "perfect" embies may not be so perfect after all.
So of the 4 that we have that are genetically normal, 1 is the highest quality grading, 2 are good quality, and the other 1 is fair/good quality. We still don't know the sex of the embies and we are going to keep it that way until they stick around. So we are going to transfer 2 (the grade 1 and the grade 2 embies) on September 26th!!!

Wow, what interesting results. Of my abnormals, you could clearly see that they were abnormal when you looked at them, even for laymen like me. I am so so happy that you have some great normal embies and I would recommend to everyone to not know the sexes as that can make it harder if things don't work out. GL for Sept 26th!!!'
Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p

SOunds like you have some great embies to put back sweets, and I agree with you re: the 'dodged a bullet' quote. Perfect looking definitely does not mean perfect genetically.

Totally agree that good looking embryos does not always equal genetically normal. We did two rounds of PGD for a specific diagnosis (DH's balanced translocation) and we had so many (per RE) "high quality textbook embryos" yet the one and only "normal" embryo in the bunch was of poor quality. RE said we make beautiful embryos...too bad we can't use them.

After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption! We are so excited to see what the future holds.
That is super interesting! It just goes to show you that less than perfect embies can make beautiful babies!
