2u2 and pacifier for #1

Hey girls,

I have a 15mo that uses a paci only for naps/sleeping. I'm due in about 4 months with #2 and am wanting to know if you tried to get rid of the paci for #1 before #2 or just waited for them to do it on their own. I'm worried that if they both have paci's that might be a lot to try and keep separate but i'm also worried that if I take #1's away before baby she might steal baby's paci for her own or be mad that baby #2 took it from her or something..

Advice!?

DD1 had her nuk for naps and bed until 15 months. We took it cold turkey, and naps were fine after a day or two, but it took a few weeks for her nighttime sleep to adjust. When DD2 was born DD1 was just shy of 19 months and she never regressed to needing/wanting the nuk.

My #1 was on a paci when #2 was born for nighttime/naps as well. #2 never took to a paci so it was a nonissue for us.

Honestly, I wouldnt worry about them sharing pacis. Soon enough they will be both gnawing on the same toys and getting sick at the same time. It's inevitable with 2 kids close in age.

We weaned the pacifier at 16 months with DD and then when DS was born she thought they were for babies and never bothered with it. I did buy a different brand though then she had just incase. DS is 15 months now and never really wanted his so no need to wean him!
