Lo had them done yesterday. He was fine. Yes, he cried but if I wasn't strong to soothe him, who would be? I took a pumped bottle and that helped calm him.
It's not that bad at this age the cry out of shock more than anything. As soon as its done I give lo my boob and all is well. Now my toddler he stays mad and has a harder time with his legs being sore since he's so active.
I nursed through my baby's first shot (she only got one, it was a combo for 5 diseases, gets the other 3 at 3 months), and that helped. She started with surprise when it went in, let out one scream, and then my nipple was right there and she latched right back on and was fine. I figure the physician's assistant has seen it all. A friend also suggested letting the alcohol (from the swab) dry before the shot goes in, it evidently cuts down on the sting a lot, though honestly, babies don't remember long.
I dont think i will have to much of a problem. Ava was in nicu for 10days after being born and they had iv's in her and checked her blood sugar every couple hours. And needles dont bother me too much.
