I have three ( ! ) one year old birthday celebrations coming up. From your own experiences, what were your favorite presents that your little ones received? Thank you in advance for any suggestions that you have.

Re: Best presents for 1 year olds
What do you plan to spend?
DD got the Fisher Price Happy Home and loves it but it's about $45 I think
She also got lots of Lego Duplo's (because we told people who asked) she LOVES lego's. They now have pink and purple ones for girls.
She also got big kid tableware. Target has cute sectioned kids plates and bowel sets in the kitchen area. Every toddler loves having their first big kid tableware.
The Playskool Busy Gears was the hit of the show for my 1 year old (and she still loves it 5 months later!)

It is now my go-to gift for 1 year olds (and it works for girls & boys!)
She loves this stacker (I got it much cheaper at Wal-Mart) https://www.amazon.com/Little-Super-Star-Classical-Stacker/dp/B003JNAQ3G/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1343260527&sr=8-11&keywords=fisher+price+stacker
She also love her mega blocks: https://www.amazon.com/Megabloks-80pc-Lrg-Mega-Bloks/dp/B000M8H8Y6/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1343260612&sr=1-2&keywords=mega+bloks
This dog is a big hit around here as well: https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Brilliant-Basics-Snoopy-Colors/dp/B000BB56B6/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1343260654&sr=1-2&keywords=fisher+price+dog
This silly thing provides endless entertainment (also much cheaper at Wal-Mart): https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Baby-Bat-Wobble-Penguin/dp/B000W3RYQS/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1343260731&sr=1-1&keywords=fisher+price+penguin
DD loved her Mega Bloks and step 2 wagon (but the wagon`s expensive).

DS loves his crazy coupe (but it's not cheap). He also got a baby cell phone - it looks like a smart phone with a working screen and everything - it says 18 months on it but I didn't see why he couldn't have it and it's a good distraction from him wanting our cellphones.
He also loves books.

I know I'm late to this party, but I would like to mention that I LOVED that DS received his entire summer wardrobe at his birthday party. I had to buy maybe 2 outfits.
As far as toys go, his favorites were his Little People (he got the farm and the safari zoo truck) and this Super Spiral Play tower:

It requires no batteries (love that). He will sit there and mess with that thing forever.
My husband made DS a toybox. I liked that :-)
For his party we asked guests to bring diapers/wipes/baby food to donate to the food pantry in lieu of gifts. We liked this idea MUCH better than traditional gifts because now we don't have a thousand more toys my son will play with once or twice AND we could help people in need.

These were DD's favorite of the less expensive toys (as I am sure you don't want to spend a fortune on these parties!)
