fav names when you were younger

one of my best friends and I were talkinng about baby names and she said "what ever happened to Sophia? that used to be your favorite name when we were younger."

It got me to thinking... what would you LO be named if you were to have named him/her your fav. name at a young age (think 13 or so)?

Here were some of mine (only a few are actually on the list now):

Boys: Jason, Dale, Jamie, Nicholas, Caleb

Girls: Madison, Audrey, Sophia, Caroline (our front runner now), Corinne (second on our list)

Back in the day I loved Ashley, Charlie, Michelle, Jason. None of them are on my lists. That was 20 years ago and styles have definitely changed.

I have always always always love the name Mackenzie or McKenzie. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's cousin named her first daughter Mackenzie last year. No, I am not trying to start a post war here, but I have just always wanted my baby to have a "unique" name from anyone else in the family. I am the only one in my family with my name, so I am just judging on my own experience and have always wanted that for my baby too. I don't think my boyfriend liked that name anyways, so sadly I am saying goodbye to little Kenzie forever. lol.

I alway loved the names Eliot and Oliver since HS (15 years ago, yikes!) I wouldn't consider them now because they are too popular and trending up.

My best friend and I were just talking about this! I loved Genevieve and Gwendolyn. Neither were on my girl list now. It's a good thing we don't make these decisions when we're that young! In the same convo, my friend decided that if she had designed her dream wedding dress when we were in HS, it would look like something from 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'. Lol

I've wanted Christian Blair to be my 1st boy since I was 14 but my DH (who I met at 18) has a brother with that exact name. So weird.

I think that would be most high school girls. I wanted one of those huge victorian dresses. I even tried one on when I was getting married, it was not as flattering as I was hoping.

LOL! I loved reading all of ya'lls names. Fun.

I always was sure I would let out my roaring feminist and name my daughter something gender-neutral. However, when I got pregnant, I've been very attached to very gendered names. Fortunately, we found out it's a boy, and my husband is a the Third, so, he'll be the Fourth and the name was easy. Phew.

I don't know about 13 but when I was 7 or so if it was a girl...seashell or flower pot. Boy..Batman or Robin. Now that we are expecting my mom likes to remind me of my previous choices! Good thing my tastes have changed !!

When I was a young teen I used to watch a oap opera that had two characters with names I loved so I had decided that if I had a boy and girl they would be Stephanie and Stephen. When I began haveing children I didn't even consider those names.

For this LO we have gone back and fourth between names but have decided on Nicholas.

Oh I loved the name Jessica (think i read a lot of sweet valley high) and then a bit later I loved all the "k" names: Kaley, Kiera, Kirsten, Kallie, etc...

I always had a hard time with boy names, but i had a crush on a boy at school named Tyler, and then later dated a Tyler who was lots of fun - so that was by far my fave boy name.

Unfortunately, DH ruled out Tyler (he knew the Tyler I dated and thinks he's a dip sh*t LOL) so that name was out.

When I was 7 or 8, they were Amy, Samantha, and Kim. We ended up naming our cat Samantha. I grew out of Kim and Amy eventually (though was lobbying for our dog to be Kim in middle school). In college, my then-BF and I wanted two girls, who were going to be Ashleigh and Kate. I don't mind those now, but I sort of associate them with him, so they're not on my list anymore.

Samantha, or Elizabeth. Any name you could make a boyish nickname out of, like Sam or Liz.

Mindy or Liza (my best friends from the neighborhood when in preschool; unfortunately they moved away when in Kinder ... still loved their names)
