Which car seat is everyone buying? We decided on the Combi Shuttle 33. It was either that or the Chicco Keyfit, ultimately we decided we liked Combi's double stroller better.
Also I wanted to post a link about car seat safety. When I had my son I was so clueless, I wish I had read something like this.

Re: Car seats
We have the Chicco Keyfit (the original that goes to 22 lb, not 30...which we opted for b/c beyond 22 lb I wouldn't want to carry that thing anyway and I'm a fan of a RFing convertible over a bucket anyway.
My son is currently in a Combi Zeus 360 Convertible which is the perfect seat for our current vehicle (Honda Element). I'll be getting either a Britax or a Diono Radian for him to move to when he's outgrown the Zeus (which he probably will by height before I feel comfortable with him FFing...hence buying him a new convertible), and this baby will use the Combi for awhile.
I am a car seat Nazi. Seriously, I am one of those people who will see you doing ot wrong and lecture you or casually post an article like this on your fb. My BIL and SIL drive me NUTS with how they do theirs. They turned nephew early, like 11m, they let him remove the upper harness, "because he complains"
Now they have him in an old school small booster (that you can't even buy any more). He is 4! They only put the lap band around him, because he complains, and it's freaky loose, it doesn't even touch him. It makes me cringe something fierce. I did a ton of research before I had DS on car seat safety and left him rear facing until he was 2 (he is really tall and was too tall for the car seat to be rear) and kept him in a harness until a little over 5. He is still in a high back booster and I will keep him in it until he absolutely doesn't fit. IMO it's common sense, children depend on you to keep them as safe as possible.
Ok I'm off my soap box. I looked up consumer reports and decided on a safety first travel system. I would like the Chicco travel system, but I'm trying to stay within budget.
We have the Radian RXT for my son and I absolutely love it! We're doing extended rear facing so I love that the RFing weight limit is so high. We'll be getting another one for this baby too when the time comes.
I'm a car seat nazi too (now)! This is my son when we brought him home a year ago:
I was SO clueless about car seat safety. I was lucky enough to have good friends who pulled me aside and explained that I was doing it WAY wrong lol!
This X2.
Haha I love this
I had an internship with a physical therapist who was certified in car seat safety/installation and she turned me crazy too. It drives me crazy when I hear or read about how a 1 year old "isn't comfortable" facing backwards because their legs are too long and get cramped. The lady I trained with always told parents, "if you're in a car accident, it's easier to fix a broken leg than a broken spine." I'll never forget that, and will definitely be rear-facing until 2 years old.
Anyways... off my soapbox too
we're registered for the Britax B-Safe
I think we have decided on the Chicco Keyfit. We still haven't bought it yet though.

It's a boy!
My parents bought us this one last weekend, off to read the link above to see if we're keeping it or it's going back!

Graco Snugride 22. My kids tend to be small, so I saw no point in getting an infant seat that held up to 30lbs - my 3 yo isn't even 30 lbs yet, and there is no way he would fit in an infant seat!
The Gracos get good safety ratings and are reasonably priced. We have been very happy with ours! DS was in it until he was 9 months old, DD until she was 13 months old before they hit the height/weight limits.
Now, DS is in a Britax Marathon, and DD is in a Sunshine Kids Radian 80 (now Diono Radian). We will probably get radians for the next kid and DS - they are so much smaller than the Britaxes and we want to be able to keep our current car for a little while anyway! (Honda CRV - we want to put 3 seats across)
