Team Green Check-in!

Hi Ladies!

I don't remember seeing one of these recently. I wanted to check in and see how you all are doing?! Still team green or thinking about finding out now that it's getting closer and closer? I am still team green....but I have been thinking how COOL it would be to find out if we're having a boy or girl in the upcoming weeks! I hope that when I actually have the opportunity to find out I can stay strong! ;)

Oh also, some of the friends who we've told about the pregnancy and told that we're team green have been so upset about it! (Well how can I buy a gift until I know what you're having?! ....UGH!) so if we really do stay team green, I'm thinking about telling everyone that baby was not even in position to tell the sex, so now nobody knows - not even the Doctor! ;) That'll shut them up without having to deal with the BS..hehe :)

Re: Team Green Check-in!

  • HA! My cousin can't believe I am not finding out the sex. Her exact words were, "How will you know how to decorate?" My brother wasn't happy about it either lol. I think we will stick with being Team Green. I love the idea of getting more stuff at the shower vs. clothes. Baby will grow out of clothes quick but since it's gender neutral, we will be able to use the things we get for all the babies.

This. It actually happened that way with DS and I LOVED not knowing. So, plan to stay that way this time around. ILs are already driving me crazy tho. MIL threatened to call the Dr. office and bribe them lol, not going to happen. It's such a great feeling (on top of the whole "here's your baby" part)!

  • Still TG here! I'm loving it actually. While everyone else waited until 20 weeks to paint the nursery we are already picking out colors and will paint soon. It's pretty easy to decorate. The only issues I'm running into are clothes. Not that we need a bunch right away but I wish there were more cute gender neutral items.

  • We're still Team Green! We've actually gotten more positive than negative responses from family and friends about it. And I love the idea of getting more necessity items than clothes. I've heard too many stories of babies having huge wardrobes that they don't even get through before they get too big to wear them! A labor and delivery nurse that goes to our church just told us on Sunday that the feeling and excitement in the delivery room is so much different when the sex is unknown, so that just solidified our decision :)

  • We've definitely gotten more positive than negative responses about being TG, but man, the ones that have been negative are crazy lol!  But, it's what I would expect from those friends ;)

I hadn't even thought about how you might get more necessity items than clothes because yes - I've heard lots of people not even going thru all the clothes before baby outgrows them!  I do wish there was more neutral clothing out there though. There's really not a huge selection. But I'm not worried about it, once baby arrives I'm sure people will probably go CRAZY with finally being able to buy gender-specific stuff ;)

  • Still team green. We're running into the same issue though - "Its twins, how are you not going to find out?!? this is going to kill us!" and "We'll find out but you don't have to know"

I'm pretty set on not finding out, at least for now.  I'm anxious about the birthday surprise for twins ya know? We'll see what happens as time goes on, but I'm staying strong for now :)

DH said that our baby is just going to be naked haha. I guess that solves the clothes problem.

  • Still Team Green here! We just told or families this week about my pregnancy and that we would not be finding out the sex. MIL and SIL think i'm crazy. MIL just couldn't believe we wouldn't be finding out...."How can you possibly be prepared for this baby without finding out?" SERIOUSLY!!??? I had to remind her that she didn't/couldn't find out the sex of her 3 children and did just fine.

My family, on the other hand, is supportive and excited about us not finding out.

Be strong, Team Green, Be strong!!!

  • I'm on Team Green although I'm still trying to convince my husband to find out (not very successful) If I had final say, we'd be on Team TELL ME RIGHT NOW! LOL I am very anti- green/yellow/ducks/frogs with eliminates just about all of the gender neutral clothing, but I have found some gender neutral big items that I like (PNP, Swing etc) We'll see how it goes in another 10 weeks or so...

  • Still team green and we'll stay team green! I asked our midwives to write in our file (for when we go for ultrasounds since those are done at a different place) that we do not want to know the sex of the baby.

Dh then said: Oh, if you don't know, then I guess I have to stay in the dark too?!

My reply: Yes dear. I just want a healthy baby - the gender doesn't matter and this way when people ask us, we can honestly say we don't know. I've already been lying to family for 9 weeks, and have another 3 weeks left of lies, so really, that's enough for 1 pregnancy.

Also, we tend to not get gifts before the baby is born - that'll all come after when everyone will know what the sex is! (we'll buy some gender neutral take home outfits but that'll be all, we'll let the rest come as gifts).

I am still team green. Since I have done it twice before I know for sure that I can hold out. I love not knowing until the end!

Still TG here! Before I got pregnant, I was sure I didn't want to find out; I had to talk hubby into not knowing. As the weeks progress, though, I've been known to say, "Are we POSITIVE we don't want to know? Wouldn't it be so cool to find out in just a few weeks?" Needless to say, now he's the one holding strong. Guess I was too convincing the first time!

  • We were team green with DD and loved it. We're going agin with this one, our friends got annoyed with us but it made her birth that much more special, especially as I had a c-section.

  • Since we were team green with DD, nobody is surprised. I like that people 'can't prepare or buy us gifts' because we feel weird about people buying stuff for the baby when it's the 4th one.  And I am so excited to decorate the nursery. It's fun to be creative finding nursery stuff that works either way and isn't all green and yellow.

  • We decided to be team green this time around. We already have 3 boys, and as this is our lasty baby, we decided we just didn't want to know, we wanted to be able to just enjoy the pregnancy, not the sex (if that makes sense lol). Plus I can't help but think how exciting it will be when they baby is born and they are like "It's a ___!" Realisitcaly it will probably be another boy, but we don't care as long as the baby is healthy.

We did buy two outfits already for the coming home outfit, one boy and one girl outfit, I can't wait to see which one the baby will be wearing home!

  • Still REALLY want to be team green but I think I am going to need some really strong will power in 8 weeks or so!!!
