Opinions on a babysitting request...

My sister has 2 kids-- they are 3 and 5 (4-6 in the fall).  She asked me last month if I could babysit for them overnight at my house on a Sat night in September as she has a wedding to go to.  I said yes.  Now she is asking me to take them Labor Day weekend as it is her 10th wedding anniversary and they want to go away.  This means I would have them 2 weekends in a row.  Really?  I love my niece and nephew to death but I really don't want to babysit Labor Day weekend.... Isn't enjoying holiday weekends a perk of being childless? But I feel like a jerk saying no when it is their 10th wedding anniversary and they've never gone away since they had the kids..

ugh.

DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN

CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE

First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    This isn't really how we roll in my family. One weeked was nice of u, at this point...she needs to hire someone IMO.

    I completely agree with vanessa. And yes, long weekends without kids is part of the "perks" of being childless. I know it is hard to say no to family though. Maybe just tell her you have other plans? GL

    Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
    DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
    Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
    IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
    FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
    IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th

    I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
    3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
    Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013

    My niece is 6 and I have never watched her...I have never offered and I am pretty sure my SIL knows unless someone is bleeding, having a heart attack or is dead not to ask me.  She is not my responsibility.  I am a b!tch, probably.  Do I care, not in the slightest...

    I would tell her no to Labor Day. Tell her you already have plans! You need to live it up because you are doing DE in the fall. You need time for yourself and your H too!

    One weekend: great.  Two in a row: inconsiderate. 

    I love my eleven nieces and nephews (yep: four siblings and eleven nieces and nephews and I am the infertile black sheep of the fandamly...two words, shi!tty luck) and I spend a lot of time with them, but I would def find it rude if one of my siblings pushed the envelope asking for my babysitting services.  

    If I were you, I would tell her you have plans over the holiday weekend.

    Here's a thought...Maybe the weekend of the wedding offer to take the kids Friday night and she can pick them up Sunday evening.  That weekend is already loss for you and that way she could maybe have some time with her H without taking up two of your weekends.
