  • It might be.  I've been telling my husband that I think I've developed lactose intolerance since iI've been pregnant.  Never had the problem before, but I have problems when I drink milk now too.

  • I've always had a sensitivity to lactose but it definitely it way worse now that Im pregnant. My stomach gets major pains after i have dairy. It's too bad because I love dairy :(

  • My Lactose intolerance has by far gotten 10000x worse since I've been pregnant. I would suggest going to your local drug store and picking up Lactaid (or the no name equivalent) I use it constantly when I'm not pregnant and more so since I've been pregnant and it pretty much gets rid of the symptoms of Lactose Intolerance
  • I have pregnancy induced lactose intolerance. If I want to be in pain and kill everyone with a fart, I eat a tub of ice cream. It happens. It doesn't stop me though. Lol.

  • i had it with my first, and it never went away (but its deff worse in pregnancy). I'll want a glass of milk really bad if i eat a brownie or piece of cake, but like you said...w/in 10-20mins i get really bad gas cramps and bloating, and its just to the point where its not even worth it! when im not pregnant it gives me a lil gurglie gut but nothing this bad!

  • I've developed lactose intolerance since getting pregnant, which is so depressing as I also love love love a nice glass of milk or bowl of ice cream.  I have tried Lactaid, and while it worked for the first couple times I used it, the last 2 times it made me VIOLENTLY ill, which is not an uncommon reaction so be wary (doesn't effect everyone, lots of people use Lactaid with no issues, but for some people they keep getting ill and not realizing that it is actually the Lactaid that is the problem).  I would much rather some gas pain and some diarrhea from the milk than what I went through with the Lactaid.

When I absolutely need a glass of milk or bowl of cereal, I've been using Natrel lactose free milk.  Not quite the same, but does in a pinch  :-)

  • I had pretty severe lactose intolerance before I got pregnant, I could only eat dairy if I ate it with a Lactaid pill.  Now, I can eat all the dairy I want, and it doesnt bother me.

  • I totally did this! Anything that had dairy in it sent me to the toilet with awful cramps and not so pleasant toilet issues. It has gotten better now so that I can tolerate cheeses, yogurts, and ice creams. A glass of straight up milk still sends me running though! Just make sure you're getting enough calcium either by supplement or calcium fortified things like orange juice.
