Nursing Bras

I talked to my cousins who recently nursed about bras and now I'm confused. One used the target brand and loved them. She had 6 or 7 she used when she was nursing. My other cousin said not all nursing bras are the same and I should spend the extra money and get them from Motherhood Maternity. She only used 3 bras while nursing. So what do you think? Go with the target brand(I also have a coupon), or spend the extra money on the better brand? What did you STM's do?

Re: Nursing Bras

  • I would wait until you are nursing before buying much. Start with some tanks and sleep bras and wait until your milk is in and regulated before investing any money on bras. Your size will probably change and different bras will feel differently for you. Plus, you may explode in cup size and need to invest in some good supportive bras that you can't find at Target or Motherhood anyway (this is me).

  • I bought a few sleep nursing bras from Target and hated them. I ended up returning them because they rode way too far up on my neck. I've heard not to rule out the brand all together and that it's just the sleep bras, but I'm large chested anyways, so I'm sure I'll blow up and have to shop somewhere different.

I love the Bravado line sold at Target. I've been wearing their nursing tanks and bras through this pregnancy and they are fabulous!

  • I used Gilligan & O'Malley from Target while nursing DD and I loved them. But I agree that you shouldn't buy too many until after baby comes so you know you are getting the size you'll need for awhile. Maybe a tank and a stretchy bra for right now.

  • Yes I never thought about cup size. I have no idea what I am now, but it's not the B I am squeezing into. So I would have no idea what size to get. Hmm decisions, decisions.
