Heart Rate in the 120's

Yesterday at my routine check up, the baby clocked at mid to upper 120's for the H.R. Now, as a FTM, this seems LOW, as baby as usually been around 135. The dr. didn't seem worried, and just said as long as LO is active (which is very true) and also, LO may have just been chillin' out at the moment...

Just a little curious if any of  your LO's have had a lower h.r. randomly?

    Two weeks ago at my growth ultrasound LO's H.R. was in the mid 120's and he was sleeping. Yesterday he was bouncing all around and his H.R. was in the mid 140's where it normally is. Hope that helps.

    I had a Dr appt this morning and LO was wide awake in there and she was 140 bmp.. I would think its just like us, if we are awake and active its a little higher...resting and sleeping a little lower.

    Dont worry yourself if your doctor wasn't concerned! :)  I'm sure your little darling doing just fine in there, especially if you feel him/her moving around.

    Thanks ladies, I figured as much, but ya know, FTM syndrome... had to check and see what the "norm" was for others.

    I think it can vary if baby's relaxing. DD was in the 130s today, 140s last time. She's been steadily slowing down. If doc's not worried, I wouldn't be either.

    I was actually doing a little worrying about the heart rate today too...her heart rate had typically been around 155 and then at my appointment two weeks ago it was 130....and back up to 150'ish again today.

    Doc said varying heart rates are actually a sign of good neurological activity and we probably just caught her in an active moment , along with the pushing of the doppler.

    As much as I do it too, I agree with the PP who said if the docs not worried you shouldn't be either!  MH said the same exact thing to me in the car today when we left the appointment :)

    I'm glad you asked this.  I was worried as baby is normally in the 150's and last appt was in the 130's.  Dr didn't seem concerned one bit, so I've been trying to brush it off.  At least it seems normal given everyone elses responses.

    This happened at my last appointment. The doctor has never said anything about a low heartrate before. She was listening to the doppler, seemed concerned, then listened to my heartrate also. She asked if I had ever been an athlete :) Because the baby moves a lot and my heartrate was also low, she didn't seem concerned.

    One of my nurses told me anything between 120 - 160 is good for a baseline heart rate.  Mine usually average between 135-150, but it's lower when they're sleeping and gets up in the 170s when they're really active.  It can change from minute to minute.

    *I have learned so much this past week*
    While I was sitting in L&D up at my normal hospital the nurses were getting very panicky because LOs HR would drop as low as 108 sometimes and her base line was sitting around 112. Long story short being under 34 weeks my hospital was not equipped to handle my LO if need be and at the time they wanted to induce me and then transfer her to Lankenau. This wasn't going to fly with mama and so the three (can't leave out MH) headed down to Lankenau. Once here and everything calmed down I began to ask questions about her low HR. The nicu team here said they weren't concerned in the least bit. After watching her for two days and monitoring on and off for 4 they said that she just has a low resting HR like some adults do. Well guess what, Daddy is pretty much a vampire with his resting HR of 48 and our Little Girl is just like her daddy. She sits at 110-112 while resting and bounces around once awake. 
    I'm seriously second guessing my hospital of choices ability to react under pressure!

    Preterm labor 31 weeks. Monitored for Hellp and diagnosed with oligohydramnios July '12

    BFP #2: 06/25 - EDD 03/05/15 MMC confirmed 8/1 - D&E 8/4 retained tissue discovered 8/20

    BFP #3 11/24 - 12/15 Heartbeat detected - DD2 07/29/15

    I think my LO was in the 120's or maybe low 130's (don't remember exactly b/c they weren't concerned). It was definitely lower than it has been but it does slow down as we get closer (which they confirmed). Definitely don't worry yourself if your doc isn't concerned! We have enough to think about :)
