I have been having a lot of pelvis pain lately. I can tell baby is sitting really low, and all my fat is in my lower stomach, so I know that's adding more pressure. Usually it's fine until I start moving around a lot.
I'm supposed to be walking everyday, but I can't physically handle it. Usually about 10 minutes into it, and I am in tears. Yesterday I cleaned my bathrooms, and it had started hurting. Stupid me went for a walk anyways, and afterwords I could barely move. I had to sit for about 2 hours and take some tylenol just to be able to move again.
I see my midwife in just under 2 weeks, and I was hoping it would be ok to ask her about then. I just feel guilty that I'm not getting my walking in. I was going to try today, but my pelvis is already starting to hurt beforehand, so I just didn't bother.
I haven't gained any weight yet, so I'm thinking it's solely position of the baby at the moment.
Do you have any advice or tips to deal with the pain?

This. My OB said that anytime I have something that hurts more than Tylenol will "fix" that I should at least call. If you're in that much pain, they'll probably have you come in sooner than 2 weeks from now.
Just a thought but have you heard of Symphysis Pubis Disorder? (SPD) It's a separation of your pubic bones that can happen during pg and/or delivery. I had it severely at the end of my pg with my DD and it got worse after labor. The pain happened when I attempted to move my legs independently of one another. Walking, rolling over in bed, getting in and out of the car were all brutal.
The only thing that helped was to make a very conscience effort to keep my knees together all the time. I even held a pillow between my knees while hanging out on the couch. Over time, the pain lessened and it went away but it was awful.
Hang in there!
Exactly this. The water may be able to hold your weight more so your joints don't get too much impact. And I've heard stretching and yoga help with pain.
And I also agree about calling your midwife now. If anything, she can at least give you some instructions on how to lessen the pain.
THIS.
I am battling it now too. I am in constant pain with my tailbone, pelvis and public bone. I alternate between feeling like wishbone and feeling like I was kicked in the crotch with steel toe boots.
I am actually sitting at my desk right now with an ice pack on my hoo ha. It feels great!
Tylenol helps, but there really isn't much you can do. I have heard that seeing a Chiropractor can help considerably, especially if you are battling SPD. I am seeing one next week (she is Webster certified). And getting a prenatal massage too.
Exactly. I just forgot what it was called. You need to sit down to put pants and panties on too, that hurts like crazy if you do it standing.
I'm going in to see her tonight now.
I have never heard of that, but it sounds like exactly what I have going on!
I am an avid trail runner, hiker, and personal trainer. I have run all of my life and this is the first time I have ever NOT run due to what they call round ligament syndrome mixed with pubic symphysis ligament sprain. I have the same symptoms after even hiking. I have found that doing vinyassa yoga (was not a yoga person before) has really helped along with a heating pad on the Pubic Symphysis ligament for up to ten minutes on a very low setting. Make sure to do your pelvic floor exercises (you can learn these from a trained pilates person in your area) and drink more water than you are used to drinking. I found that if I treat it like a chronic ankle sprain, it helps. There is a lot of pressure pushing your pelvis wider, the ligament is being stretched beyond what it is used to and it hurts like hell. Personally, I wouldn't ingest Tylenol. But, that is up to the individual. Try an anti-inflammitory diet. Cut out nightshade veggies. Stretch you groin muscles often.
Hope this helps!
