FTM question- carrying high vs. low

Just curious-- is it too early to tell how it looks like we'll be carrying? I am just surprised on how "high" my bump seems at this point, and wondering if it will stay that way. My pants still have no problem fitting-- haven't needed to use my belly band or a rubber band just yet. But my very noticable bump is like right where my belly button is, and it seems like my uterus just keeps pushing my gut upwards, haha..

I know this is a silly ponderance, just wondering if anyone else has had thoughts about this..

  • At this point I'm sure it's just your uterus pushing everything else up. I know that's the case with me for the most part.

This. I'm a FTM too. It's pretty obvious to me at this point that my bump is not a baby bump, but what I refer to as my organ bump--created from all the other organs shifting up! :)

  • With DS I carried low my entire pregnancy. A few weeks before he was born, DS pulled himself up and wedged his head in my hip pushing his whole body upward. My bump moved way up and stayed that way until my c-section.

This, it's unlikely that your bump is high enough to be over your pant line yet. I didn't have problems with my pants until last week... and now I'm sitting here watching Criminal Minds with my pants unbuttoned because I haven't bothered getting a bella band/mat pants yet.

  • Definitely just other things moving upward.  The baby and uterus are still ver low.  Where I am carrying the baby right now (just above my underwear line), isn't even close to where my "bump" is . . . All my fat is being pushed up and I can still button my pants fine too.

  • Haha, ok thanks all. I guess I should keep telling people it's just fat for now. Looking forward to the merging of the gut and bump :)

  • My "bump" is definitely higher than it was in my early pregnancy with DD. I'm not sure how much of it is baby though... Smile

  • I carried really high with dd the first time around. It may be a first time mom thing because my bump is definitely low this time. :)
