Ladies I have the Arms Reach CoSleeper original and I want to get one of those positioners to make sure baby is safe. I just have not done any research on them. Maybe some of you are just using rolled up blankies or something like that? idk... ftm here... What sleep positioner/wedge would you recommend? tia
Re: Best Sleep Positioner?
Sleep positioners are one of those things that raises sids risk.

We got the Clearvue model so the sides are all mesh and the mattress fits snugly against the sides. It's a pretty thin mattress, and we are using it as the bassinet feature instead of attaching it to the bed. There doesn't seem to be much space, if any, between the sleeper sides and the mattress. Maybe there is on the other models.
just looked yours up and is different.
This is the one that we purchased: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jolly-Jumper-Sleep-Rite-Infant-Support-Anti-Roll-Pillow-/180930535191
But are planning on using in the crib. This way she will not be able to roll around and will not be able to breath in it or any of the other terrible things said about a sleep positioner.
This! I can't believe they still sell this stuff. Your pedi will most likely tell you not to use one as well.
Me neither. Aside from the SIDS risk, in my infant class for my major, they tell you babies actually need some space to develop motor skills.
They can still be useful. DS had positional plagiocephaly and early torticollis with suspected early skull fusion so we had to use blankets and pillows to position him in his bassinet for a couple weeks. It would have been easier if we had had a positioner but we just made do with what we had.
I see what you are saying, however, if your kid needs it, it should come from a med supply store with specific instructions on how to safely use it...and be paid for by insurance or at least FSA eligible.
