I'm 14 weeks on Saturday and I'm pretty sure my bra size is around 34 or 36 DDD...maybe even larger. I was probably around a DD or DDD before getting pregnant and the girls won't stop growing!!!
To all my fellow mommas who were "blessed" even before getting pregnant, where is a good place to shop with decent prices?
I know that the growing fun hasn't even begun so any advice about what sizes I should start looking for??? My boobs have been busting out of my bra for about 2 weeks now...I just haven't had the time or $$$ or energy (bra shopping really kicks my self esteem in the butt) to look for bras yet.
Should I go with regular or nursing bras??? I was told by a coworker to just go ahead and get nursing bras but I was told by someone else to get "t-shirt" bras that could easily be pulled down or up to nurse. The problem with that is I need lots of bra support and t-shirt bras don't typically offer that with their stretchy material and little thin straps.
Last but not least...if any of you mommas have used bras in 34 or 36 DDD or higher that you would be willing to part with, I might be interested if the price isn't too high. I'm pretty desperate at this point and my DH is convinced that pregnant women don't need new clothes...ugh.
Thanks in advance ladies!!!
Re: All My Big-Breasted Mommas
I started out pre-first pregnancy as a 34D. By the time my milk came in I was a 34H and settled into a 32G as a nursing mom (yes, my band size actually DROPPED). Late PG my band size was huge, but at that point you want to just get some band expanders (like $5 for a set of like 6 or something... cheap) rather than buy a bunch of bras you wont use that long.
At this point I wouldnt worry about getting nursing bras. a) you may continue to get bigger and b) even if not, you are going to grow everywhere else and the bras you are using NOW are likely going to be stretched to hell. It is harder to find bursing bras wtih molded cups, underwire etc in the larger sizes, so tat will be limiting.
I only use those non-supportive pull down bras for sleeping. They were never enough support. I wouldnt worry too much about getting nursing bras until your milk comes in. You dont know what size you will end up at at that point until you get there.
I am a nordstrom devotee for bras. If you have one local, go there to get fitted. There are some good online retailers, but I always suggest a good fitting. A local shop would work too. Dont waste your time at VS etc. THey suck anyhow and wont carry the sizes you likely need.

I like sports bras but if you don't find the perfect one then you have a "uniboob." Plus I feel like really supportive and comfortable sports bras end up having huge straps which really limits what you can wear!
oh and your DH sounds like he needs a wake up call. Pregnant women dont need new clothes?
Um ok. I w ould have been naked by teh end under that theory.
As for not needing bras - if you are wearing a too small bra, esp with a larger chest, it can cause back issues. Plus you will look like crap
A well-fitted bra makes you look thinner etc! And when your milk comes in, a too small bra can cause duct issues.

Thanks so much ladies!!! As far as Nordstrom, I don't have one locally but I have been in one before and was fitted for a bra but the bra ended up being $70!!!! Is that normal or did I just happen to pick up the most expensive one???
I know that my DH needs a wake up call. Lol. I'm starting to show a little bit so I think he's starting to understand that I need a little more than what the local thrift shops have to offer. If I could lay around all day in PJs, I could just wear his clothes for the next 9 months but bills need paid so he needs to loosen the reigns on my spending

1) I've been dd+ for a long time (currently an "I") From my experience larger bras are more expensive. The cheaper bras I bought either did not provide enough support or they were very uncomfortable. As you become larger you need more support, some places just make the bra larger without any increase in support. My bras are normally about $70 each.
2) A well fitting bra will make you look slimmer and will make your clothes look better. A poor fitting bra does the opposite and can make your back/neck/ shoulders hurt because of the lack of support. Say no to sagging boobs! ;-)
3) My go to places are nordstroms and barenecessities.com. They have free shipping and they will help you determine your size over the phone.
you guys are not alone i need some new over the shoulder boulder holders as well. i have always had a hard time finding bras but i love the plus size ladies stores they have all sizes and shapes. i recommend Catherine's i just checked and they do have a website https://catherines.lanebryant.com
good luck
I was a 32E pre-baby and normally buy bras from Bravissimo, a company in England (worth the money for the fit)
Since I needed something more immediate and needed to be resized I went to Nordstrom. It was a but pricey - $55.
I hear ya about the exhaustion thing, that's why I picked Nordstrom. Walk in, tell them you need to be resized, they walk you into the fitting room, size you and do all the work after you explain what you are looking for (even a price range). They even put the bras on for you! I forgot what it's like to be pampered like that haha
