I think the main issue is techs are essentially "guessing" at NT scans. If you get your a/s done after 18 weeks and your LO is cooperative, I think you can be pretty confident in knowing the correct sex of your LO. I know it's pretty popular to get an elective done before the a/s starting around 16 weeks, but you still see posts about how that tech was wrong. I rarely see posts about the tech being wrong at 18/20 week a/s.

I think if you're waiting until your 18-20 week US it's pretty clear. However, I am still dumbfounded at how many are normally right! LOL. Maybe it's just me.

I agree! We had an u/s around 16 weeks (I am part of a study) and I didn't want the tech to share the money shot or any guesses! The whole idea of thinking one thing only to find out it is wrong a few weeks later-- too crazy!
I've heard that they're normally right at 18-20 weeks. I'm in that range, and I had my a/s done Monday, and the baby wouldn't cooperate. I think a lot of it has to do with positioning of the baby and movement as well. My baby's stubborn because it wouldn't move Monday for the u/s, but was moving all day yesterday and has been moving a lot today!
I posted about the techs being 80% sure it's a girl. 80% is a lot more certain than 50%, right? LOL
