I am pretty sure that there is a shower brewing. Based on the extensive amout of food in the kitchen & the lump in the middle of the kitchen with a blanket over it. I know I should be thankful, but I begged them all not to do anything for me. This is really an awkward feeling for me. I don't like it.

I felt the same way, I knew my co-workers were throwing me a shower but I just didn't know when.

I was anxious about it until the time of the shower, then I just had to accept it.

Awww, that's sweet though. At my last job, they had a small shower for me, which I never would have expected in a thousand years. Just enjoy it.

I know it sounds so silly, but a shower was the one thing I didn't want this time around. I love my co-workers (for the most part) but I hate that they were asked to do this for me ...AGAIN. So, while I don't want to seem ungrateful I really wish we could have skipped all this.

They probably love doing it. It's nice to have some variety to the workday and a fun little event to attend. Those who aren't into it probably didn't contribute or contributed minimally. And if you thank them with a thank you card plus a tray of donuts or bagels they'll be totally happy. Trying to make you feel better. Is it working?

Haha it took me a while to remember that DD also stood for Dunkin' Donuts (which we have around here too). I was like well that's an odd choice, her daughter or bagels?

The officers from the club I am advisor of (high school teacher here) asked to meet next week to go over some stuff for next year and I suspect that they are planning a surprise shower because they stink at being discreet and I am kind of dreading it because I feel awkward if they buy me stuff.....I keep telling myself it's the thought that counts.

It's very sweet, but I get it. I'm so awkward. I always have been awkward receiving gifts, and a shower is way too much attention for me. But give me some Jack & Diets and I become an attention whore. Wwwhhheird.

I know how you feel but my office is throwing me a shower on the 9th with another pregnant girl here. I told them not to but they said they wanted to and plus this is my first girl. It's really nice of them but I feel weird about it.
