I know it?s silly, and I prolly have no reason to worry, but for the last 10 days Ive had such a hacking cough that i can still barely control, a runny nose, sneezing, fever, headache - the whole package. Ive been taking tylenol but thats it.
And Im worried that, coupled with the fever, the almost constant muscle siezures from the coughing, sneezing and nose blowing might have done a damage to the baby. The coughing fits are still really strong, and although I gave up smoking over a year ago now, it really sounds like a lovely gurgly smokers cough that just rattles on and on and on.
In the back of my mind -and Ive not googled anything - I?m convinced that the babe just cldnt have made it thru such a hostile environment ![]()
Re: terrible cough/cold/fever - irrational fear
thankyou ladies - good to know I?m not losing my mind as well as my lungs! I?m not at the dr?s for my first scan till the 14th August so I?m more than a little anxious.
I?m desperate to see a little bean and hear a heatbeat - for this to feel real and for me to finally allow myself to bond with this little bubba. This cold/cough has just made me hold back from that even more tho.
Ive had a cough for the past 4 weeks.... its driving me insane.
I dont have a cold or fever or anything.. just a cough that is totally unproductive and annoying. Im going to the dr tomorrow and I plan to just mention it, although im sure its nothing. I read online that it could just be that when youre pregnant your body is producing more mucus, causing a stuffy nose, and therefore causing the cough. Hopefully it will go away soon! and I wouldnt worry about hurting the baby, everything I looked up said the baby is fine throughout your coughing spells!
My sister in-law who's pregnant had that really bad and then gave it to me and my husband. I called my doctor immediately to see what I could take and I started taking Tylenol Sinus and Congestion every day for 5-7 days and I got better, which is unlike me...I usually stay sick forever.
Hope this will help you too!
