Off topic...but concerned about MY health

While I was pregnant, I had gestational diabetes. I knew this could lead to type 2 diabetes later on. Recently, I've been experiencing massive headaches/migraines, numbness in my arms and legs (not all the time...just periodically), I've gained quite a bit of weight recently, I'm ALWAYS thirsty (but I live in AZ. its hot as crap. who's NOT thirsty??), and its hard to quench that thirst. My vision feels like its changed also. Now, after googling diabetes 2 symptoms/signs...these could all point to type 2 diabetes. I KNOW I need to go see a doctor....just wondering if there's anyone here that has diabetes....did you have similar symptoms? Or am I just over-reacting??

    It does sound like symptoms of Type 2, but it could also be something entirely unrelated. You need to see your doctor ASAP to get it figured out. Better to over-react and find out you just need to drink more water than under-react and have untreated diabetes. I was GD twice and have a Type 2 mother, I'm trying to make changes to avoid Type 2, and I know it's terrifying to think about having it, but better to know and treat it. 

    And step away from scary google! It will just up your stress while you wait to see your doctor.

    Extreme thirst could also indicate a kidney problem. Get to a doc ASAP. And as PP said, stay away from Dr. Google!

    Agree with pps - see a doctor. The sudden changes are suspect to say the least.

    ITA with PP's. A doctor visit is definitley needed.

    And also a bit of topic - where in AZ are you (general of course!)? I'm in the Valley and spend lots of time in Tucson for work so can totally relate about the heat! Only a few more months before it cools off again, I can't wait :)

    I made an appointment....soonest they can see me is august 7th. I'll just keep a close eye on things until then. And I'm in Mesa! :)

    Me too! Your'e the first person I've "met" that actually lives in the same city as me LOL. That's awesome!
