I read that your baby shouldn't have diaper rash within the first 6 weeks of life. That seems a little crazy to me, but my LO has already had 2 flare ups Anyone else? What cream are you using to treat and/or prevent?
i've never heard of that! ds had a bit of diaper rash starting by the time we got home from the hospital! we put sudocrem on it then and at every diaper change (i use a generous amount and see it as kind of a barrier). it cleared up within a couple days and we haven't had any issues since.
My LO had a little flare up at about two and a half weeks and I used Burt's bees diaper Ointment which cleared it up pretty quickly. I figured I'd start with a mild cream and if that didn't work, I'd try something stronger. Now I use it every other diaper change to hopefully keep it away.
DD had a little flare up a few days ago. I just put the vasoline stuff they gave us at the hospital on her and it cleared up pretty quick. It has been super hot here so I am wondering if that had something to do with it.
Oh I never heard that before! My DS has already had diaper rash. I actually posted about it not long ago. I used desitin cream which worked well. Exposure to air is also good.

DD had it within the first 2 weeks as well. We use Canus' Lil Goat's Diaper Cream. It's the best stuff I've found and it also works well as a preventative. Smells good too! Much much much more inexpensive per ounce and had 40% zinc in it which is the most I have seen.

ETA: Just saw your ticker. With a little girl the air exposure should be less tricky.
