...that it's a girl. We had the anatomy scan yesterday, and two techs couldn't make a certain guess.
My baby, I tell you, is the most stubborn thing, next to its mama! It stayed curled up in a ball and kept its legs pretty closed. But the techs said that if they had to bet, they'd bet girl.
So DH has been talking to it like it's a girl and calling her Ava (or "Avs", as his nickname for her has become)! (Her name would be Ava Emilie, but we'll see if it's her.)
We see the doctor on Monday, and we'll see if she asks us to go back because the techs said they couldn't really see too much of the organs in the baby's belly. Maybe if we do go back we could get a better look. If not, we'll look at getting one of the 3d ultrasounds where they guarantee finding the sex.
Re: Only 80% sure....
My girlfriend recommended to me to have a frappachino before both of my A/S, to liven up the kid... worked both times. Both kids were very active and showed the goods.
Maybe try this before you have your next ultrasound. A little caffiene and sugar will not hurt you or the baby.
This makes me so anxious for our appointment lol. It's a week from tomorrow. I think I'm going to cut way back on the sugar for the days leading up to the apt and then have a frap or OJ on my way in. After the car accident I had a frap while waiting for my apt. My hubby stopped and got it for me to help me calm down and when we went in we couldn't see any thing lol. The baby kept moving around but only it's top half lol. Kept putting its arms up next to its head (so freaking cute) and would only wiggle the bottoms half. Each time the tech moved the Doppler thingy away from the "goods" the baby would move to spread eagle and the tech would quickly go back and it would close its legs again. Lol little tease (must be a girl. Jk!
And the point of that apt was to check my placenta but the tech still tried.
I hope your doc orders another one for you!

Oh, no! Don't be anxious! I just think my LO is stubborn! It's been a continuing pattern! I think it's just a little like mama: not doing things just because others want someone to do something!
But I'm gonna try with the sugar on my next time.
And DH made a similar comment with the legs: he said, if it's a girl, it's a good thing she's keeping her legs closed, so she can keep doing that after she gets out! What a loser! LOL
