I go to Women's Healthcare. They have 5 doctors I believe. I've been going to them for several years and they delivered my son in April. I had to be induced and they scheduled it to be sure that someone from the practice would be there. Dr. Finnegan delivered my son, but I've seen everyone in the practice, mainly Dr. McConnell and Dr. Keegan. Really like them all and they've always been great. Usually pretty timely for appointments.

  • I saw Dr. Heinzel and Dr. Lavern at Lawrence Park OB/GYN.  They are the only Drs in the practice.  I really liked them both.

I'm here too. It's actually spelled "Laveran." They have two docs and then a couple nurse practitioners -- Melanie Winter is awesome and really spends time. I met Heinzel only briefly so far, but he seemed "cool" and nice. Laveran is more serious -- he did suggest an amnio right off the bat for me (because I am 35), but I asked for a sequential screen first. He was OK with that, but I thought it a little odd to jump right to the amnio -- but again, he was OK with doing what I wanted, which is what matters.

My old OB was religious about rotating your appts between the two docs in the practice so you got to know them both well before delivery. This practice so far has not made an effort to do that, but considering I will probably have to have another scheduled C-section, as long as I get to know my primary, that's fine. However, you could ASK to rotate them.

I used Dr. Heinzel during both of my pregnancies and I am IN LOVE!  He was so kind, patient, fun to talk to, understood my concerns and took every one of my fears into consideration.  I think their latest OB appointment is usually 345.  They are usually very on time for their appointments.  While they do recommend that you see both doctors, they don't push it.  Dr. Laveran is a little serious at times but after the first few visits with him I was comfortable.  I had a serious issue with post partum and although I was closer with Dr. Heinzel, Dr. Laveran is who I would want by my side if I went through it again.  He was amazing.

  • I'm using Dr. Scott Bailey. Have only had 1 appointment so far but he's FABULOUS! He's exactly what I needed- takes a low intervention approach (unless you specifically don't want that). Very laid back and non-alarmist. I'm a plus sized girl (size 20) and cracked a joke about myself being bigger during my first scan but he told me not to worry about it: "Big girls need babies too right?!" He does have later afternoon appointments. It's him and another woman OB. So far- he's really awesome!

    +1 for dr heinzel

Had such a great experience with him and my first baby

  • I also used Dr. Scott Bailey.  He's very pro-VBAC, which was what I needed.  He let me push 3 hrs with DD (we were both doing fine) even though in the beginning he told me he would only let me push 1-1.5 hrs.  I think that's something he might have to say, but when my 1.5 hrs were up, he kept saying, let's try 10 more minutes until she finally came out at 3 hrs.  Really laid back and easy going and explained everything as he was doing it.
