*I am counting down to bed time tonight. 2 hours to go. Yes, 10pm is late but sleeping (albeit broken sleep) until 10am is lovely.
*Last night I kept getting annoyed at my huband when our baby woke up. Poor guy, he was not to blame in any way. Luckily, he just slept through and I kept quiet.
*I want to hire a mother's helper. Or have more people come visit and *play* with us!
Re: Tuesday night randomness/confessions
I am dreading starting DS on meats. I am making his baby food and I don't think I can puree chicken, ground beef, ect. I am torn about what to do.
The next 2 weeks are going to be hell.... packing an entire house with a 7 month old, storing most of our stuff, and moving into my parent's basement is beyond stressful.
I just ate a Reese's blizzard from Dairy Queen after vowing yesterday that I was going to eat better this week. Who was I kidding?
That's ok. I had a Skor Blizzard with extra Skor. At my next weigh in (I check in every 2-3 weeks) I was down 4 pounds. Blizzards are magic. My husband kindly pointed out that I wouldn't have probably been down 8 if it hadn't been for the treat.
I am spending $230 on laminating stuff for my new classroom at Office Depot. I don't really have a choice in the matter if I want the stuff laminated, because I can't use the laminator at school to do decorative stuff (I have a calendar, a couple of posters, and bulletin board border that don't necessarily count as "academic"). So I am spending my own money on this.
Never. Again.

What is a Skor? We don't have those type of blizzards here. I hope blizzards work magic on me too!
My first year I spend over $1,000 on classroom stuff, and the kids destroyed it all by November. I vowed to never do it again and I have the most un-decorated classroom in the school. I am still bitter about that $1,000!

If it makes you feel better, I *think* there's a tax credit/deduction you can take for that. It's a special "teacher credit" that's good for up to $250. (I'm not sure....that credit may have expired...and I can't remember if it's a federal or a MI thing...) I can ask DH in the morning, he's a CPA) Keep your receipts
. I also shudder to think how much of my own money I've spent over the years!!
ETA: Okay, DH and I just talked taxes at breakfast
He said it's a $250 deduction on your federal taxes. It's still good for this year (2012), but it's supposed to expire in January, so it may not be around for the future. So, keep your receipt and you'll be able to get a little something back in the spring
Thanks for the info! Taxes confuse the hell out of me so I'm glad somebody knows.
I'm keeping all of my receipts in hopes that our tax person can do something with "work-related expenses."
