Have started taking a look at daycares and am amazed at the insanely high cost of daycare centers here. We don't really know many people in Woodbury, yet. Does anyone know if any good in home daycares in the area? Thanks!

Re: Woodbury daycares
I can't help you, but I can sympathize. I also live in Woodbury, and we also don't know many people in Woodbury with small children to get recommendations for home daycares. The only family I asked was, like us, wary of home daycares, so could only provide advice on centers. We're a little too nervous to send our first child to a home daycare without a recommendation when neither of us have had experience with day care. So LO will be going to a center once my maternity leave is up in September, at least for now. If we end up having any more children, I think we will have to look for a less expensive option. Based on what I have seen, I have to think Woodbury is one of the most expensive areas in the nation for day care. The TC metro area is already one of the highest in the nation, and Woodbury is high for the TC area.
Good luck with the search, and I am definitely interested if you find any good options, for possible future reference.

If you don't mind a center, it's a little hike but the hours are fantastic as well as the staff... Little Beginnings (they're No. of Hastings on 61, about a 15 minute drive from over by Bailey Elementary) ...
We checked out a few home daycares but the hours are what completely turned us off (as well as a few of the people that were running them). Most wanted the kiddo picked up by 4:30 which didn't work with DH & my schedules. We checked out a bunch and ultimiately decided to go the center route with Little Beginnings.
