BF Mamas: Your favorite pump?

I have to EP because of Andrew's heart issue so I have a medela PISA and I really like it. I also borrow my BFF's PISA for work so I don't have to pack up mine everyday.

I just found out my insurance will pay for a pump for me so I can give my BFF's back to her. I have considered getting another PISA but am also looking at the freestyle (though I have read that the suction isn't as good, you need to pump longer, etc), ameda, playtex and avent. What do you use? Why do you like it?

TIA!!

  • I really like my freestyle, however it's the only pump I've used so I have nothing to compare it to.

  • I used a Medela Pump in Style but I too was borrowing from a friend. Well she got KU and wanted it back so I asked around and did some research and ended up buying the new Tommee Tippee double electric.

I LOVE it. I honestly like it way better than the PIS. It is so much nicer on the nipples. They advertise that it feels more natural like a baby's suction than a pump and they aren't lying.

  • I have used both the Ameda/Lansinoh pumps and the Medela PISA.  Medela is hands down the better pump.  I regret not buying it with DS and am soooo glad I have it for DD.

  • i have the medela pisa and dont love it but maybe mine is just faulty. after about a mnth i feel like the suction sucks (lol) i have it all the way up and it wont suck it makes a wonky noise. i usually end up massaging to get the milk to come out while using the pump. maybe i should call for a replacement motor. i also am looking for a cheap pump to keep at home so i can leave the pisa at work

  • I had the Medela PISA for DS, and I wasn't a big fan. I had trouble getting milk out using it (it was losing suction even after replacing the membranes) after the first couple of months.

This time, I got the Hygeia EnJoye LBI (the one that runs on a rechargeable internal battery or external power), and I love it. It works much better for me at getting the milk out. I am able to get several let downs each time I pump.
